Drunk on Boheme: Doing the OTS Trend Casually

OTK, OTS, OMGHHKP, IDK man I can’t keep up with all the acronyms these days.  I do know, however, that when I find one I like, I stick with it for a while and comment it everywhere on social media, and I try to incorporate it into my life as much as possible (that is, when it’s related to clothing).  So when people started talking about “OTS this” and “OTS that”, I had to find out what it was so I could love it as well!  OTS stands for “off the shoulder” and this is one trend I’m totally diggin’ for summer time!

You know those clothing pieces that make you say “I’ll just buy one of them” and then you end up buying like twenty?  Yep, that’s exactly what has happened with the OTS style.  I began with just one top before summer even began.  Then suddenly, I had a handful of dresses and other tops that were begging for me to wear them.  This particular paisley beauty from She & Sky caught my eye because it’s so wonderfully casual.  OTS can tend to have a fancier appeal because it shows a little more skin, but you can definitely dress it down.  I paired this top simply for a day of coffee and shoots with my blogger bestie, Stefanie, and boy was it perfect for the 110° heat index!

Casual doesn’t always mean bland.  My go-to casual shoes are these block sandals from AMI Clubwear.  Because they aren’t too high of a heel, and they are a perfect cognac without embellishment, they work with any daytime look.  I tend to reach for neutral accessories when I’m dressing on the casual side.  My new Kendra Scott bling added just the right amount of pizzazz without drawing too much attention, and my Zaful sunnies were classy and cute with the matte black frames and gold brow bar.  These few pieces kept me looking put together without too much effort, and I wasn’t wearing so much stuff that I became weighed down or overheated – plus, it all perfectly accented my OTS top!

Have you jumped onto the OTS bandwagon?  Are there any new acronym trends you’re dying to try?  I have to admit, I’m looking forward to fall so I can pull my OTK (over-the-knee) boots out of the closet again!
